We are interested in producing nano/micro fiber-based fabrics.

Welcome to Xu lab

Melt Electrowriting

Melt electrowriting (MEW) is an advanced 3D printing technology to produce high-resolution scaffolds. We own eight different MEW printers to print high-performance fabrics with complex structures.

Braiding

We have a home-made braider to braid bioresorbable flow-diverting stents. Medical-grade poly(L-lactic acid) fibers are produced by melt spinning for the braiding.

Electro-centrifugal spinning

Electro-centrifugal spinning combines the strengths of electrospinning and centrifugal spinning, being capable of producing high-quality and large numbers of nano/micro-scale fibers.

Electrospinning

We develop an electrospinning-based coating system to coat a very thin layer on a monofilament to tune the mechanical properties and degradation periods of the filaments.
